Mason Greenwood continued his red-hot form in pre-season with another goal in what would be an eventful Aston Villa clash for the ex-Man Utd forward.

Greenwood rounded new Villa goalkeeper Marco Bizot to finish into an empty net for an early opening goal in a 3-1 win for Marseille, his seventh goal in pre-season. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang would go on to score twice for his new club to secure victory.

Tyrone Mings made a defensive error to allow Greenwood to go through and score in a fiery encounter for the pair. They would clash again in the second half, as Mings got a firm grip of Greenwood’s shirt after the 23-year-old took out Amadou Onana. One can only imagine what Mings said to the former Man forward during the altercation.

Following an impressive debut campaign in where he struck 21 league goals for Marseille, Greenwood will be confident of continuing that form in the new season and may feel he still has a point to prove.
